Privacy policy

receive-sms.app is a free directory of public SMS inboxes. Browsing does not require an account, personal phone number or payment. If you contact us, your email and the information you provide are processed to handle your request. Google ad serving is disabled on this site. We use Google Analytics to count visits; it loads for every visitor and may set cookies.

What we collect

• No account data. There is no sign-up, so we hold no usernames, passwords, or email addresses unless you email us yourself.
• Technical request data. Hosting and network providers may process IP addresses, user agents, referring pages and timestamps to deliver the site and operate security controls. An IP address may constitute personal data.
• Analytics. Google Analytics loads on every page. It records pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, and the in-page actions listed below, and sets analytics cookies.
• Advertising. No third-party ad network loads on this site. Pages carry plain links to other products made by our team; they are part of the page itself and share no data with anyone. Google AdSense remains paused: its ad-serving script is not loaded, and Google advertising cookies are not requested.
• Actions sent to analytics. We record when a number or code is copied, when a number page is opened, and when a live inbox receives new messages, together with the number concerned. These numbers are public and already appear in the page address; no message text is sent.
• Browser preferences. Features such as message alerts are saved in local storage. Browser notifications require your permission, which you can revoke in your browser settings. Clearing this site's storage resets saved preferences.

The messages shown on this site

The phone numbers listed here are public numbers published by third-party services. Any SMS sent to one of them is visible to everyone, including us and every other visitor. We do not know, and do not try to learn, who sent a message or who requested it. Never send sensitive information — banking codes, password resets for accounts you care about, personal details — to a number on this site. If a message containing your personal information appears here, email us and we will remove it.

Cookies and browser controls

• Google Analytics may set cookies when you visit. Google advertising cookies are not requested at all in this version.
• To opt out, block or clear cookies and site data in your browser, use a content blocker, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Public inbox browsing works the same with these blocked.
• You can also disable browser notifications in your browser settings.
• External links take you to a separate provider with its own privacy practices. Partner promotions are labelled and do not load the partner's website until you follow the link.

Advertising

Pages show labelled links to other products from our team (SwiftSMS, GetaTempMail, Roamsim and RevalVIN). Following one takes you to that site, under its own terms and privacy policy. Google ad serving remains paused. Before enabling Google ads we will update this policy again.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export data relating to you, to object to processing, or to complain to a data protection authority. Because we hold no account data, most requests concern server logs or a message published on the site. Email contact@receive-sms.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

Messages remain in the archive unless removed; a number becoming inactive does not automatically delete its message history. This application does not enforce an automatic message-retention deadline. Hosting-log retention depends on the hosting configuration. Contact us about removal or information on data retained for your request.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 (16 in parts of the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Pages here link to other sites, including advertisers and our partner SwiftSMS. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; read their policies before sharing anything with them.

Changes

This policy may change as the site does. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
